Let It Roll
by Ori Goltz
A children’s picture book about pedestrian safety for ages 4-8
Let It Roll is a picture book for young children that reaffirms the often familiar yet overlooked foundational rules of road-crossing. These rules come to life in a captivating fictional narrative and lend relevance to the possible consequences.
Ooli & Tooli, the two kitten protagonists, appeal to the audience’s emotions by making the “What-if” scenario relatable to small children.
While primarily geared towards four to eight-year-olds, the narrative serves as a stepping stone for more profound conversations about child pedestrian safety education. Regular readings increase children’s retention of the safety rules and enhance their comprehension of the complex and increasingly dangerous road environment.
Let It Roll aspires to bridge a gap in learning to increase children’s awareness, knowledge, and safety as pedestrians.
Meet Uncle Fellini
“Uncle Fellini was the coolest uncle any kitten could wish for.” —excerpted from Let It Roll
While he loved having fun and making the kittens laugh, as a school bus driver he knew to teach them the importance of traffic safety
He repeatedly told the kittens: “You cannot expect drivers to keep you safe. You must keep yourself safe!”
